The Prince Frederick Volunteer Rescue Squad
The Prince Fredrick Volunteer Rescue Squad, Boat 4 - the H2O Express II under Rescue Captain Bill Clark have linked with the Filey and Calvert County Sister City agreement, the Bay Initiative and the Bonhomme Richard project. Aileen Newbury, chair of the Filey Bay Initiative said that this was a historic link as both Filey and Calvert County have a joint maritime heritage and are bridging the cultures of both communities. Both Filey and Calvert County have a long standing involvement in the saving of life at sea and as well as life saving, Bill has has worked previously with Don Shomette the noted underwater archaeologist and author and has always had a keen interest in underwater archaeology. Bill Clark, the Rescue Captain of Boat 4 H2O Express II of the Prince Frederick Volunteer Rescue Squad met members of the Initiative in September 2006 when they visited Calvert county on holiday with Donald Shomette. It was during this visit that Bill and his crew, Don and the visitors travelled up to the head of the Patuxent River in search of the Flagship of Commodore Joshua Barney from the war of 1812 and this has been reviewed on the USS Scorpion page More information is to be found on the Rescue Squad Website
